The tubechange Shroud and Nozzle can be made from the same composite materials as Tundish Shrouds and Nozzles. The sliding surface contact between the two components is made of a high erosion and hard material. As such, a perfect sealing between the two is ensured.

Tubechange Monoblock Subentry Shroud & Nozzle

When long casting sequences are required with optimum controlled flow control, the tubechange refractories are the best choice. Fitted into a tubechange mechanism, they will extend the life of the Tundish considerably. The tubechange Shroud and Nozzle can be made from the same composite materials as Tundish Shrouds and Nozzles. The sliding surface contact between the two components is made of a high erosion and hard material. As such, a perfect sealing between the two is ensured. Special coatings will further protect the surfaces and provide excellent lubrication.

Tubechanger

Hard surface material.

High Alumina erosion resistant material comparable to sliding gate surface. Special coatings are applied to protect against oxidation and erosion. The face to face sealing of nozzle and shroud can be enhanced by argon injection through the nozzle surface. This will provide perfect sealing.

Body material.

Alumina graphite material with additional elements to provide required field performance.

Slagline flux resistant composite sleeve.

Based on zirconia material.

Protective coating system.

They protect the graphite based material from oxidation during pre-heat and casting.

Insulation fiber or coating

to preserve heat during off-gas period when the shroud is placed into casting position.
